Lab Head: Dr Theodosis Kalamatianos

Research at the neurobiology lab focuses on the following two topics:

  Α. Pathophysiology and Biomarkers of Neurological Disease.

The overarching goal of the research is the elucidation of pathophysiological mechanisms underlying neurological disease and the identification of novel diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers. The clinical entities under investigation include disorders of considerable neurological and neurosurgical interest such as chronic subdural hematoma, normal pressure hydrocephalus, stroke, brain trauma and brain tumors.

 Β. Human cerebrovascular system anatomy and physiology.

The research aims in the better understanding of human cerebrovascular system anatomy, providing further insights into its variable anatomy/physiology.
